be quiet! Dark Rock Elite Review

Overall Performance

To calculate each cooler’s overall performance, I take into account three factors, the CPU’s temperature, wattage, and frequency, by using the following equation:

(Wattage / Temperature) x Frequency

Each chart shows the cooler under test as 100% and every other product’s performance as relative to it.

Relative performance is notably higher than the Dark Rock Pro 5. It still loses to the Noctua NH-D15, but the performance gap is smaller.

Performance Per Price

The high price doesn’t help in these charts, especially since the NH-D15 chromax. black is only five euros more expensive.

  1. “I switched the AIO on my main work PC with an air-cooler, and the only thing I have to do from time to time is to clean the heatsink from dust”

What’s your air cooler these days? What CPU is it cooling, in what PC case?

  2. Nevermind. I assume it is the Noctua NH-D15, as it is the one that cools the most Watts per dB(A). All this for a cooler released almost a decade ago!
