Silverstone FHS 120X Fan Review – 4000 RPM Beast

The Silverstone FHS 120X is a powerful fan, where high airflow and static pressure are required, and noise output comes last. Silverstone describes this as an industrial fan, because it is suitable for cooling down servers or any machine used in business environments in general, that has increased cooling demands.

Most normal users are searching for fans who don’t require earplugs to use since their cooling demands are normal. But what about extreme cases where the thermal loads are increased, and powerful fans have to be used? This is where Silverstone’s FHS 120X fan comes in. It has 38mm depth to be able to host a powerful motor, which can spin the fan at up to 4000RPM.

The fan’s speed is controlled through a PWM signal, meaning that you can adjust its speed easily to match your requirements. The dual-ball bearings are a must for industrial applications, which are this product’s main scope, and with a 0.94A current rating, which translates to 11.28W at 12V input, you easily realize that this fan is not for the average Joe.
