Montech King 95 Pro Case Review: Thermal & Noise Damping/Output Evaluation

Epilogue

The King 95 Pro’s versatility and ease of building make it appealing to a wide range of users; however, the competition is fierce in this price range, including the Lian Li O11 Vision, the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO, the HYTE Y60, and the NZXT H6. This doesn’t mean that the King 95 Pro offers little for its price; on the contrary, some standout features set it apart, such as the wrap-around tempered glass, the six pre-installed fans and 10-fan hub, and the different cooling configurations. Regardless, some shortcomings are worth noting.

  • The user manual could benefit from a linguistic revision, which is crucial for non-experienced users.
  • The quality of the curved glass is mediocre.
  • Potentially, Montech could omit the HDD bracket to lower the price.
  • Or, instead of lowering the price, an out-of-the-box vertical PCIe mounting could be provided.
  • There is no GPU anti-sagging mechanism in the bundle.

Six PWM ARGB fans and the ten-fan PWM/RGB controller alone can be enough incentive to choose this chassis instead of a classic mid-tower. The included front mesh panel is another good reason, as it allows users to select the cooling configuration that better suits their needs.

Regarding performance, I will start with noise damping first, where, as expected, the extended use of glass doesn’t offer top performance in this section. The results are not mediocre, though, with the chassis achieving a Cybenetics Delta-A level thanks to its 7.2 dBA noise damping. In thermals, the King 95 Pro is in line with the competition in the 25 dBA normalized tests, but at full speed, I expected lower temperatures given its six high-speed fans. I tried it only with the glass front panel and not the mesh one, which would allow for lower temperatures.

This chassis is worthy of your attention and gets a Hardware Busters recommendation!
