EKWB EK-Loop Fan FPT 140 D-RGB Fan Review

Normalized Noise Tests

For these tests, I set the fan to speeds with noise output at the following predefined levels: 20/25/30/35/40/45 dBA. I skip the corresponding tests if the fan under the test cannot reach some noise levels. The speeds shown in the graph below are measured with the fan in a clear space inside my hemi-anechoic chamber without any obstacles. I set these speeds on the Longwin machine, but they slightly change because of the variable conditions that the device applies.

20 dBA Noise Output

The EK fan has the lowest speed at 20 dBA, so the not-so-good performance doesn’t come as a surprise.

25 dBA Noise Output

Again, the lowest speed, hence the not-so-good performance

30 dBA Noise Output

Lowest speed again. Although airflow is decent, static pressure is low.

35 dBA Noise Output

Only two entries are here, and the Shark Force easily beats the EK fan.

40 dBA Noise Output

Good performance by both fans, but the Shark Force is notable ahead.

45 dBA Noise Output

At 45 dBA, the EK fan is alone. I haven’t evaluated many 140mm fans so far, and none of them reaches 45 dBA.
