Corsair Frame 4500X Chassis Review

Noise Damping/Output Results

Stock Fans Speed

The fans in the Frame 4500X, identical to those in the Air 5400 we recently reviewed, are pretty fast compared to most pre-installed options in a chassis.

Stock Fans Noise Output – LAeq/LZeq

The noise output is similar to that of the Air 5400. In this case, the noise output reaches up to 44.6 dBA as the fans ramp up to 2400 RPM. At 70% PWM, the noise output drops to 34.2 dBA, almost a whole decibel lower than the Air 5400.

Noise Output All Frequencies – LAeq/LZeq

Noise Damping Performance All Frequencies – LAeq/LZeq

Up to 250 kHz, the chassis acts as an amplifier, but not at any other frequencies. The noise damping of the 4500X is among the best we’ve seen, especially in the mid-range, where the human ear is most sensitive.

Noise Damping Performance Chirp/Pink Noise – LAeq/LZeq

The pink-noise and chirp-noise damping performance is similarly excellent.

Noise Output Results – GPU

The GPU noise output is as expected, with a slight dip at 80%. Overall, the noise levels fall within the typical range.
