HP Portable SSD P900 1TB Review

The HP P900 portable SSD can deliver up to 2000 MB/s speeds at both Read and Write operations, according to its maker. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 and it looks to be an ideal solution for expanding the storage of laptops and PS5 consoles.

If you own an Apple Mac and want more (and fast) storage, the best option is to use a portable SSD. Portable SSDs are also ideal for laptops in general since expanding the available storage in such systems is not as easy as in desktop PCs. At least in most laptops, you can replace the NVMe SSD with a larger one, which is not an option for Macs. But this is another story.

During Computex, I got my hands on an HP P900 portable SSD, which I took back home for testing. This is a lightweight product featuring a tiny footprint. Moreover, HP states that it is tough enough to endure some abuse. Along with the SSD, you will also receive a free customized version of Acronis True Image, a great application for cloning, data transfer, and backup.
