The Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1200W offers Gold efficiency and it is ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.o compatible, through its 12VHPWR connector that can deliver up to 600W to the GPU. With only 140mm depth, this is among the smallest 1200W PSUs available in today’s market.
The Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1200W will be included in my best ATX v3.0 & PCIe 5.0 PSU picks article.
Thermaltake is going strong in the PSU market, releasing a new line after another in short intervals. The GF A3 line consists of five members, all of which are Cybenetics certified, including ATX v3.0 certifications. For those of you who are probably unaware, from the release of the ATX v3.0 spec, Cybenetics performs all necessary tests to confirm (or not) ATX v3.0 compatibility, and a while ago, it released the corresponding badges. So when you see a PSU with a Cybenetics ATX v3.0 or ATX v3.1 “Pass” badge, it means that it indeed meets the strict newest ATX specs.
The Toughpower GF A3 1200W is made by HKC, an OEM I don’t often meet, although it can deliver good platforms. TT mainly uses this OEM to differentiate its products from the competition.
