The Deepcool PL550D costs 49 euros, making it the most affordable ATX v3.1 PSU of toda’y market. This price is dead low even for previous ATX generation PSUs. Although its max power is restricted to 550W, this unit can withstand power spikes up to 1100W!

Deepcool is the first to offer highly affordable ATX v3.1 PSUs through its PL-D series. I have already evaluated the PL800D, PL750D, and PL650D, and they all perform decently, given their price tags. It is not easy for an older design to output 200% of its max power to be compatible with the requirements of the PCIe 5.1 CEM, but Helly Technology achieved that. The PL-D line consists of four members, with capacities ranging from 550W to 800W. In this review, I will evaluate the smallest member of the line.
