Lian Li UNI FAN TL 140 Review

Epilogue

The Lian Li UNI FAN TL 140 has a different design for the LCD version, as you can see in the photos below. It has more blades, and its smaller center hub allows for increased airflow. On the contrary, its static pressure is lower. This means that if you want a fan for your chassis, it is better to go with the non-LCD version, while for use in cooling systems, where high static pressure is required, the LCD version will perform better.

While the UNI FAN TL LCD 140mm tops the static pressure charts, the plain TL version doesn’t do well in this section.

The Lian Li UNI FAN TL 140mm costs $36, which is 16 dollars cheaper than its LCD version. Still, the asking price is high, notably higher than competing offerings, and you should consider that you will need the controller to power these fans, so you cannot get just one but the triple-pack, which includes the controller. So basically, the single-fan packages are suitable only if you already have the triple-pack with the controller and want to add more fans but don’t need an extra controller. This is how I understand it, at least, and feel free to correct me in the comments section if I am wrong. The LCD version of this fan got an innovation award from me because of its LCD screen. The Non-LCD version achieves top-airflow in the noise-normalized tests, but its high price kills the performance per dollar score.
