Cooler Master MF120 HALO² Fan Review – Not What I Expected!

Normalized Noise Tests

For these tests, I set the fan to speeds with noise output at the following predefined levels: 20/25/30/35/40/45 dBA. I skip the corresponding tests if the fan under the test cannot reach some noise levels. The speeds shown in the graph below are measured with the fan in a clear space inside my hemi-anechoic chamber without any obstacles. I set these speeds on the Longwin machine, but they slightly change because of the variable conditions that the device applies.

20 dBA Noise Output

Mediocre performance at 20 dBA for CM’s fan, with Arctic’s highly affordable fan putting to shame all the rest, even the Phantek’s T130-120 beast costing 3x more!

25 dBA Noise Output

Low airflow and not impressive static pressure.

30 dBA Noise Output

Things start looking better for static pressure, but airflow is low.

  1. Just wondering if the power consumption figures also include led lighting? Even without lighting consumption figures are impressive, just wondering how much additional power those leds suck.
