Epilogue
The Gamemax N90 arrives a year after the N80, building on the original design to refine and improve an already well-executed chassis. The updates introduced with the N90 include a slightly revised exterior featuring a new top-back panel and a dot-matrix display. Internally, it adds a new fan type and an updated hub. Its solid build quality, elevated main compartment, and wrap-around glass give it a high-end appearance that helps it stand out against competitors like NZXT and Corsair.
Whether you like the new top-back panel is subjective, but the magnetic dust filter beneath it has been replaced with a new magnetic panel that sits on top, making cleaning easier. Dust filtration won’t be quite as effective, but maintenance is more convenient. The new dot-matrix display feels more like a gimmick than a handy feature, though it does offer a unique visual touch with its side-panel integration.
The fan and hub updates are critical. The new fans, in addition to their sleeker design, now use standard PWM and 5V ARGB connectors instead of the proprietary ones found on last year’s N80. This is a very welcome change, especially at a time when many manufacturers are moving in the opposite direction, locking users into their ecosystems. As a result, the fan hub has also been updated, now offering PWM and 5V ARGB ports and still supporting up to 10 ARGB fans.
Hardware support is excellent, with room for long GPUs, tall CPU coolers, and even E-ATX motherboards thanks to clever internal spacing. Support for back-connector motherboards is another welcome, forward-looking feature. That said, cable-management space is limited, the storage trays feel somewhat flimsy, and replacing the mesh dust filter on the top with a less fine alternative is not optimal.
With a $189.99 price tag, the Gamemax N90 is clearly pushing into premium territory. You do get a lot of value, but at this level, the decision comes down more to personal taste than to which chassis offers the most value. The N90’s design flair, cooling potential, and strong overall feature set make it a compelling option for builders who want something visually distinctive. It’s not perfect, but it delivers a premium experience with personality.
