Lian Li SX0850P 850W ATX v3.1 PSU Review

The Lian Li SX0850P is a compact, measuring 140mm in depth, ATX v3.1 compliant power supply, strong enough to support a decent gaming system. With Cybenetics Platinum efficiency and a price of 120 dollars, this looks like an interesting product. Read the full review to find out more!

The Lian Li SX0850P is (or will be) included in my best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x PSU picks article.

Lian Li’s SX series includes three models with max power ratings of 850W, 1000W, and 1200W. These units come in two colors, black and white, to match your chassis. The 850W is already certified by Cybenetics as Platinum in efficiency, with the certifications of the other two members of the family to be announced soon. What is interesting to the majority of users is the pricing scheme Lian Li used for members of this line. The street prices are competitive given the product specifications, and you can find them below:

Given the slight price difference between the 1000W and 1200W models, the latter will be the preferred choice for most users. Another note is that the Black and White versions have the same price tags.

The highlights of the SX Platinum line are the following:

  • Available in 1200W, 1000W, and 850W models
  • Black and White colors
  • Zhong Yuan Power OEM
  • Cybenetics Platinum efficiency (850W model only for the moment)
  • ATX 3.1 PSU with full support for PCIe 5.1 GPUs and GPUs with 6+2-pin connectors
  • Fully modular design with braided cables and cable combs for cleaner builds and easier cable management
  • 120mnm FDB fan that stops below roughly 40% load for near-silent operation
  • Half bridge + LLC Resonant Converter + Synchronous Rectification
  • Compact dimensions (140mm depth)
  • 10-year manufacturer’s warranty

Lian Li appears to be moving some of its PSU production from Helly to Zhong Yuan Power, following the wise rule: “don’t keep all of your eggs in one basket.”
