XPG Core Reactor II 850W PSU Review

Average Noise

The average noise should be lower. The competition leaves XPG far behind in this regard.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C

[115V] At up to 520W, noise is within 15-20 dBA, so it will pass unnoticed. At 550W, the 30 dBA mark is passed, and the unit soon enters the 35-40 dBA region. With more than 740W, noise goes over 40 dBA. All in all, as long as you don’t exceed 520W, regardless of the load on the minor rails, you will be in the quiet zone, so most of the time, the PSU’s noise won’t be an issue. Only if you push it hard you will enter the noisy zones.

  1. Hi crmaris.
After buying this power supply, I decided to test it with a tester from Aliexpress. When the tester is turned on, it starts beeping and Power Good flashes with a reading of 130.
    All other indicators are normal.
Can you tell me if this is a factory defect or can I use this power supply?
P.S. I checked the tester on my old Deepcool PQ750M power supply. There it works without beeping and PG blinking.
