Lian Li EG1200G ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Lian Li is mostly known for its chassis, but it also tries to infiltrate the PSU market. The EG1200G is its new high-end model, offering 1200W of power, ATX v3.1 compliance and a unique L-shale design which according to its maker is ideal for dual-chamber cases.

The Lian Li EG1200G ATX v3.1 is (or will be) included in my best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x PSU picks article.

I skipped reviewing the first generation of Lian Li’s L-shaped PSUs, but I decided to look at the second generation, which now offers a removable USB/fan hub with four USB and six fan headers. This concept could help users wanting more USB headers and those who don’t want to buy a separate PWM/RGB controller for their fans. Nonetheless, I will stick to the PSU’s performance in this article because this gimmick is not for everyone.

EDGE 1200W Black / White $179.99
EDGE 1000W Black / White $154.99
EDGE 850W White $119.99
EDGE 850W Black $109.99
EDGE 750W Black $99.99
EDGE Hub White $16.99
EDGE Hub Black $16.99

The 1200W and 1000W units will come with the EDGE hub, which will be optional in the rest of the family models.

This unit is made by Helly, which has a close partnership with Lian Li. This OEM (Helly) got attention from small to medium-sized brands since it produces good platforms at reasonable prices. It is always nice to have new players in the manufacturing business because it provides more choices and helps improve performance and quality through competition.
