Cooler Master V850i Gold PSU Review

Average Noise

The average noise output is high with the standard fan speed profile, but you can adjust it through CM’s software.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C

[115V – Standard fan speed profile] With the standard fan speed profile, the unit’s fan doesn’t spin at loads up to 300W at 12V. The 30 dBA mark is passed at around 620W; with 10W more, the PSU enters the 35-40 dBA zone. If you want silent operation at higher loads, connect the PSU to your mainboard and adjust its fan speed profile through the provided software.

  1. Thanks Aris. Been waiting for this.

Got this psu on prime day discounted w/ a $50 rebate based on your ATX 3.0 tier list. Was hesitant to jump the gun since there was no cybernetics report or in-depth reviews on the 850W at the time.

Relieved to see your positive endorsement of the OEM. 😅
