Thermaltake SWAFAN EX 12 ARGB Sync Fan Review

Box, Contents & Bundle

The bundle includes the following:

  • Short fixing bolts (12x)
  • Long fixing bolts (12x)
  • Power connectors (3x)
  • Reverse fan blades (3x)
  • Oil tube

As TT states in the user’s manual, you must oil the bearing if you replace the fan blades several times.

The build quality looks good, and the lack of any fixed cables provides an aesthetic bonus. There are rubber pads on the corners to minimize vibrations, hence lower noise output. The ARGB ring around the fan blades is large enough, and its cover has the same color as the fan blades.

The fan has two LED rings with 20 LEDs in total (inner: 6, outer: 14). The two-zone LED lighting allows you to make some nice effects using your mainboard’s software. I am not a huge admirer of RGB lighting, mainly because my systems are installed below the office and away from my visual field, but if you have the required space on your desk for the chassis, RGB fans can create a cozy atmosphere.
