Arctic P14 PWM PST 140mm Fan Review

Output Noise

I use a Class 1 Bruel & Kjaer 2270 G4 sound analyzer equipped with a Type 4955a microphone with a dBA-weighted dynamic range of below 6 dBA and up to 110 dBA. All tests are conducted inside a hemi-anechoic chamber with a noise floor close to 6 dBA and an ambient temperature of 25–28 °C. The test subject is placed a meter from the sound analyzer.

Full & 70% Speed

For those of you expecting the DBB fan to be noisier, this is not the case! Especially at 70%, there is bearing noise in the FDB model, which explains the high difference from the DBB model.

Speed (Percentage) – Noise

I use a different setup to drive the fan for noise measurements, so there might be a difference in the readings of the Longwin machine, especially in the max fan speed reading.

The noise at 70% is increased, so I will perform an extra frequency analysis at this level to see what is happening.

  1. Great review as always, thanx
One small typo on the 2nd site, last sentence. There should be superior.
…not the 1st typo in this exact word … I have two guesses for the reason:
1st: superior in Greek = ανώτερος [anóteros] …phonetically close prefix an ≈ in…. or
2nd: you work too hard (almost every day one YouTube video and one review + other activities) … you should rest more, not just work … in Slovakia we have a saying… work is not a rabbit, it will not run away, it will wait at you … 😊
