Arctic P14 PWM PST 140mm Fan Review

The Arctic P14 PWM PST is a highly affordable 140mm fan, destined for users wanting decent airflow, low noise output and

Arctic has a vast portfolio of cooling solutions, including fans, which can sometimes confuse potential buyers. So far, I have reviewed the following Arctic products:

Contrary to the P14 PWM PST CO, which uses a double ball bearing, the plain version (P14 PWM PST) uses a fluid dynamic bearing, which most users prefer, thanks to the lower noise output, especially at low RPMs. Personally, I prefer DBB fans because they are more tolerant of high operating temperatures, and, in general, I don’t mind a bit of increased noise at low speeds. The weird thing is that despite the change in bearings, the performance specifications remain the same, according to Arctic’s claims at least, but I will find out after testing if this stands.

The fan’s speed is PWM controlled from 200 to 1700 RPM, according to Arctic, and there is also a zero RPM mode activated with <5% PWM signals. The maximum claimed performance is 72.8 CFM for airflow and 2.4 mmH2O for static pressure. Both values are high enough, and I am anxious to check them against what the Longwin fan testing machine will tell.

  1. Great review as always, thanx
One small typo on the 2nd site, last sentence. There should be superior.
…not the 1st typo in this exact word … I have two guesses for the reason:
1st: superior in Greek = ανώτερος [anóteros] …phonetically close prefix an ≈ in…. or
2nd: you work too hard (almost every day one YouTube video and one review + other activities) … you should rest more, not just work … in Slovakia we have a saying… work is not a rabbit, it will not run away, it will wait at you … 😊
