Sharkoon VK4 ARGB Chassis Review

Epilogue

The Sharkoon VK4 is straightforward to evaluate: it aims to deliver as many modern features as possible at a fair price, and it succeeds. Out of the box, it comes with four pre-installed ARGB fans and a hub to control them, tempered glass side paneling, two magnetic dust filters, and support for liquid cooling radiators up to 360mm at the front and 280mm at the top. It delivers good noise control, with linear noise scaling and strong damping characteristics.

The build quality is solid for its class, featuring a full tempered glass side panel and a wavy mesh front that adds both rigidity and visual appeal. Getting inside is straightforward thanks to thumbscrews on the side and PCIe slot covers. Cooling performance is flexible, though airflow can be restricted by the double filter setup at the front; you might want to remove the inner one. Storage support is decent, featuring two dedicated SSD mounts located behind the motherboard tray and a drive cage positioned under the PSU shroud.

The lack of USB Type-C on the front I/O makes it feel dated; most expansion slots use break-away covers, and the included GPU anti-sag bracket may not be practical, depending on your hardware. Cable management also needs some extra effort to look clean. Still, these are expected trade-offs at this level.

For a budget build, or if you don’t want to overspend on a chassis, the VK4 is an excellent option. In fact, the value is so strong that it feels like you’re getting a free case with your fan-and-hub kit. There is undoubtedly a market for this case, and at $60, it’s hard to argue against what Sharkoon has achieved. Last but not least, the VK4 ARGB earns a Budget Hardware Busters badge!
