Last year, be quiet! introduced the Light Base 900, which we had the opportunity to review, a unique-looking chassis with a price tag to match its extravagant looks and features. Now, the lineup expands to include the Light Base 500 and 500 LX: significantly smaller chassis that cater to those who prefer more compact builds.
What sets the 500 apart is its side-intake setup, which positions the fans at an angle while maintaining an orthogonal footprint. The fans pull in air from both the front and the side, with the side retaining a clean, panelled look. The I/O sits on a column at the front-right corner of the chassis, giving the case a distinctly unique front end.
Beyond the design, the 500 supports ATX motherboards with back connectors, CPU coolers up to 170 mm tall, and GPUs up to 410 mm long, ensuring excellent hardware compatibility.
The Light Base 500 comes in two variants: the standard and the LX. The standard version is available in black and includes four non-ARGB fans for stealthy builds, while the LX is available in both black and white and features color-matched ARGB fans. The LX variant also consists of a fan hub, whereas the standard model does not.
