Box & Bundle
The box provides good protection. Weirdly, XPG decided to downgrade the PSU from Cybenetics Platinum to Gold. This is probably the first time I have noticed marketing trying to downgrade a platform! I will contact them to use the proper Cybenetics badge.

The exterior design is attractive, and the PSU’s footprint is compact, with only 140mm depth. There is no semi-passive switch at the unit’s front side since this mode is absent, but if you ask me, it is better to have the fan controlled through PWM and spinning at all times rather than stopping it at low loads. At the PSU’s backside are nine sockets, including a 12VHPWR connector, which a 12V-2×6 one will soon replace.

Description | Cable Count | Connector Count (Total) | Gauge | In Cable Capacitors |
---|---|---|---|---|
ATX connector 20+4 pin (640mm) | 1 | 1 | 16-20AWG | No |
4+4 pin EPS12V (750mm) | 2 | 2 | 16AWG | No |
6+2 pin PCIe (650mm+150mm) | 2 | 4 | 16-18AWG | No |
6+2 pin PCIe (650mm) | 2 | 2 | 16-16AWG | No |
12+4 pin PCIe (650mm) (600W) | 1 | 1 | 16-24AWG | No |
SATA (500mm+150mm+150mm+150mm) | 2 | 8 | 18AWG | No |
4-pin Molex (500mm+150mm+150mm+150mm) | 1 | 4 | 18AWG | No |
AC Power Cord (1400mm) – C13 coupler | 1 | 1 | 18AWG | No |
There are many cables and connectors, including two EPS and six PCIe connectors. There is also a high-power PCIe cable set at 600W. All in all, the amount of cables and the 600W set high-power PCIe cable are overkill for a PSU with 850W max power. The amount of peripheral cables is enough, and the distance between them is adequate at 150mm.
Excelente review! Muito esclarecedor. Realizarei a aquisição. Muito obrigado pelo seu trabalho!
Would the 750W version perform similarly? (in theory)
yes
Can you please tell me the difference between this model and original one (without II) since the adata xpg core reactor without II is a lot cheaper here..? Thanks
Hi, which one would you recommend between this Core Reactor II, FSP hydro G Pro, Montech Titan Gold or Thermaltake PF3 850w?
Thankyou in advance
Core Reactor II or FSP hydro G Pro,
Hi thankyou for replying, is the new Core Reactor fan still noisy?
Are there other better PSU than those two?
Can you mention few of them?
Thanks a lot!
Please look in my best PSU’s article to find the less noisy in this category. I have them all there.
Best overall for 230V still are these three?
Super Flower Leadex VII XG 850W, Cooler master V850i and NZXT C850 Gold?
Those might be better than the XPG right?
Hi crmaris
I am seeing that it is a very good PSU for the price, what do you think about buying it to use with a 4070TiSuper and an R7 7800X3D? 850W
It will be fine!
Hi crmaris.
After buying this power supply, I decided to test it with a tester from Aliexpress. When the tester is turned on, it starts beeping and Power Good flashes with a reading of 130.
All other indicators are normal.
Can you tell me if this is a factory defect or can I use this power supply?
P.S. I checked the tester on my old Deepcool PQ750M power supply. There it works without beeping and PG blinking.
You can use the PSU. These cheap testers are for basic stuff only.
Thank you, for your reply.
Hi crmaris, is this one better then the first core reactor? Price difference is big.
If you don’t care for ATX v3.0 and the 12VHPWR cable, you can go to the first version.
