The Sharkoon Rebel P20 1000 won’t empty your wallet, offering ATX v3.1 compatibility and high efficiency along with enough power, to support a potent gaming system.
The Sharkoon Rebel P20 1000 will be included in my best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x PSU picks article.
Sharkoon made a bold move in power supplies, releasing two lines simultaneously, one with normal-size ATX members and one with small form factor SFX models. I will review all of them in time. I have already evaluated the flagship Rebel P20 model with 1200W capacity, and in this review, I will look at the 1000W unit. Andyson is the OEM of all Rebel P20 units, which suffered last year because of EVGA’s issues to the degree that it almost shut down its operation. It is nice to see Andyson back again on its feet, and I hope there won’t be any more problems with this manufacturer since I like their attitude and spirit of cooperation.
The Rebel P20 1000 is a fully modular unit with ultra-compact dimensions thanks to the restricted 140mm depth. I am not so fond of small, in size, PSUs because, in most cases, the small dimensions affect noise output. This is not the case here, though, since the average noise output is within 20-25 dBA, Cybenetics A rating, which is a very good noise rating, given the maximum power of 1000W. When a powerful PSU delivers high loads, the system’s overall noise output will be high since the cooling solutions on the CPU and GPU will be stressed unless it uses a custom-made and high-capable liquid cooling solution for both. This means that even if the PSU runs silently at high loads, the other PC parts should not be expected to do so.
