Deepcool PX1000P ATX v3.x PSU Review

Average Noise

The average noise output is high!

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C

[115V] The passive operation doesn’t last long if you exceed 115W on the minor rails. The problem is that after the semi-passive operation ends, the fan spins at high speed (>1000 RPM), with its noise output exceeding 30 dBA. There should be more speed steps, keeping the noise output below 25 dBA once the fan starts. At 790W and above, the noise goes over 35 dBA. The fan speed profile generally needs tuning for lower noise output, especially at light loads.

  1. It’s such a shame that such a good and expensive PSU is hampered by a silly fan profile.
This figure looks like some sort of torture device.
I want to ask, if the starting 1k RPM (30-35dBA) is the same even with the semi-passive mode turned off?… If so, than it is really silly.
