DeepCool PN650D ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Box & Bundle

I got a pre-production sample for the review that didn’t ship into the retail box, so the only photo I have to show you here is of my cat, Tom, sleeping in a drawer!

Product Photos

The PSU is compact, with only 140mm depth. Its design is similar to the rest of DeepCool products, with the punched fan grille and large perforations allowing for good airflow. Around the back, you will find eleven sockets, including a 12V-2×6 one.

Cables

Captive Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 20+4 pin (550mm) 1 1 18-20AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (730mm+150mm) 1 2 18AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (590mm+120mm) 1 2 18AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (590mm) 1 1 18AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (610mm) (450W) 1 1 16-24AWG No
SATA (450mm+120mm+120mm) / 4-pin Molex (+120mm) 2 6 / 2 18AWG No

The EPS cable is extra long, but it has two connectors attached. Although the PSU’s capacity is low, this is not ideal. There are also three PCIe connectors on two cables and a single 12+4-pin PCIe connector set at 450W. I won’t complain about the two 4-pin Molex connectors, asking for an additional one, since this PSU only has native cables. You should not expect a load of cables and connectors.

There is no need for thicker gauges on the high-power cables, except for the 12V-2×6 cable. Lastly, all cables are flat and stealthy.
