Box & Bundle
The NAS arrived double-boxed and in perfect condition. The outer box is plain, featuring the TerraMaster logos and a sticker identifying the model. Opening it, you’re greeted by the NAS on top and the bundled accessories below. The foam provides excellent protection, and the NAS itself is wrapped in a plastic bag.
Inside the accessory box, you’ll find:
- AC Power Adapter
- 1x Cat 6 Ethernet Cable
- 10x HDD/SSD Screws
- 10x Hard Drive Labels
- Quick Installation Guide
- Compensation Promises Leaflet
- Limited Warranty
The included AC power adapter is one that TerraMaster commonly uses across its product line. It provides 12V at up to 4A (48W total). The power cable measures approximately 1.465 meters in length, and the Ethernet cable is about 1.45 meters long. TerraMaster opted for an external power supply, which is a practical choice. Using the same adapter across devices reduces costs and makes replacements easier to find, unlike internal PSUs with proprietary connectors.
Drive installation is toolless for 3.5-inch drives, so TerraMaster doesn’t include a screwdriver in the box. Still, you get a bag of screws, useful if you’re installing 2.5-inch drives. The lack of a screwdriver might be a mild cost-cutting measure, but let’s be honest, anyone buying a NAS likely already owns one.
The included drive labels are a thoughtful touch, helping you organize your drives if you frequently swap them. Just remember not to cover the breather hole. Finally, there are three paper leaflets: a Quick Installation Guide, a Limited Warranty, and a uniquely named “Compensation Promises” leaflet. The latter outlines TerraMaster’s commitment to replace defective products and provide an additional six months of warranty coverage for them.
