AMD Ryzen 7 8700G APU Review: Performance, Thermals & Power Analysis

Overclocking & CPU Frequencies

Since this 8700G has an unlocked multiplier, I just dialed 51x multiplier and ran my tests. I also tried higher frequencies, but the system wasn’t stable.

If you are wondering, the charts and the data are all correct. With all cores at 5.1 GHz, the average temperature is notably lower! I conducted the same test repeatedly, only to see the same results.

For some reason, at 5.1 GHz on all cores, the APU’s power consumption is lower than the stock, leading to lower operating temperatures.

As expected, at least performance is better, with all cores at 5.1 GHz!

The following charts show the processor’s clocks, helping you check how well (or not) it manages to sustain its clock frequencies.
