Phanteks T30-120 Cooling Fan Review – ReCheck!

The Phanteks T30-120 is among the best fans I have evaluated so far, and only the second one that I had handled with my Long Win LW-9266 Fan PQ performance measurement apparatus so I had to run all tests again and write a new review, based on the current fan methodology. 

Back in the day, that I did the Phanteks T30-120 review, it was the second-only fan that I handled using the Long Win LW-9266 Fan PQ performance measurement apparatus, so my fan-testing methodology was far from complete. Since this fan is important, as it is one of the best 120mm fans that you can find on today’s market, I thought that it would be a shame to update the original review. I should post instead a new one where I won’t only use the new methodology but I will also provide charts with many more competitors since I now have the required data to do so! With that said, I use some parts of the original review.

If you ask me what type of fan bearing I consider the best, I will reply with magnetic levitation on any day of the week. Sunon was the first to introduce this bearing type in late 1999, and thanks to its cooperation with Corsair, it vastly improved its corresponding production lines.

On its page, Phanteks states that it worked for years with Sunon to introduce the T30-120 fan that features an aerodynamic fan blade design besides the 30mm thick frame. Moreover, the components used are industrial-grade for increased reliability. Indeed, once you get your hands on the fan, you will immediately notice the good build quality, which is also shown by the extended warranty, which is six years long.
