InWin Neptune DN140 PRO Fan Review

Normalized Noise Tests

For these tests, I set the fan to speeds with noise output at the following predefined levels: 20/25/30/35/40/45 dBA. I skip the corresponding tests if the fan under the test cannot reach some noise levels. The speeds shown in the graph below are measured with the fan in a clear space inside my hemi-anechoic chamber without any obstacles. I set these speeds on the Longwin machine, but they slightly change because of the variable conditions that the device applies.

20 dBA Noise Output

The highest RPM belongs to the DN140 Pro, showing that the specially designed fan blades offer low noise output. The airflow is high, but this is not the case for static pressure.

25 dBA Noise Output

The DN140 Pro has the highest RPM at this noise level and the highest airflow at nearly 70 CFM. However, the static pressure is not that high compared to the competition’s results.

30 dBA Noise Output

Higher RPM and very high airflow again, losing only to its Neptune AN140 sibling. The static pressure is also increased and competitive enough.
