InWin Neptune DN140 PRO Fan Review

Epilogue

The InWin Neptune DN140 PRO has high build quality and an innovative fan blade design. Still, the differences between the claimed and actual performance are high, especially in static pressure. In the normalized noise tests that matter the most for most users, the DN140 Pro achieves the highest speeds in all three noise levels I tried, showing that its noise-suppressing design features work well. In all cases, it also achieves high airflow, but its static pressure only starts to get competitive at high speeds, which means increased noise output. In the 30 dBA normalized noise test, the DN140 Pro takes second place in airflow, 1 CFM below its less expensive sibling, the AN140, and second place in static pressure behind SilverStone’s Shark Force 140 ARGB.

The high price of the DN140 Pro is partially justified by the innovative design and high build quality, but I would like to see a top performance at airflow and static pressure to be convinced to recommend it. If its price were lower, below 25 dollars/euros, things would be easier for this product, but the competition is fierce at 30 dollars/euros. InWin products are of top quality, and this brand can make some crazy designs that nobody else dares to do. Still, the prices are usually higher than the average. But you should always keep in mind that innovation and out-of-the-box thinking have a price!

You can get this fan from InWin’s online store.
