EKWB EK-Loop Fan FPT 120 D-RGB White Fan Review

Epilogue

The EK Loop Fan FPT 120 D-RGB is suitable for higher speeds and achieves high static pressure levels, which you need for radiators and heatsinks. A company so deep into cooling solutions is expected to have a fan with high static pressure. Say you don’t want to exceed 30 dBA of noise; other fans register better performance, including the incredible Phanteks T30-120, the Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM, and the Rainintek Ageras 12 ARGB. The FPT 120 is mostly for higher speeds, where it effectively meets most competing offerings, especially in static pressure.

While most brands announce/claim improved performance numbers, usually, this is not the case. This is why I was surprised to find out that the true static pressure of this fan is +12.59% higher than the advertised one in my review sample, at least! In most fans I have evaluated, the true static pressure is usually way lower than the advertised. Since so far, the review community hasn’t had the option to check against the advertised values, brands and manufacturers didn’t care much about declaring the true values, but this will soon stop. Back in the day, this was the case for power supplies till reviewers got their hands on electronic loads and other equipment and started checking if the alleged performance levels were true or just for marketing purposes.

You help me a lot by using my affiliate links, which don’t increase the product’s price. I get a commission from Amazon every time you do it, which can make a difference for me, especially now that I am on my own, working exclusively for my media and not for someone else.

  • High airflow and static pressure at full speed
  • Top static pressure at 35 dBA normalized noise test
  • Daisy chain option
  • Fluid dynamic bearing for increased lifetime
  • PWM control
