[115V – Standard fan speed profile] With the standard fan speed profile, the unit’s fan doesn’t spin at loads up to 510W at 12V and with a minimal load on the minor rails. The PSU is dead silent at up to 920W, which will cover most systems. The 30 dBA mark is passed at 1200W, while the unit’s fan exceeds 40 dBA at around 1520W.

  1. Despite being discontinued, the AX1600i was built by Flextronics and had a less than optimal failure rate. The XPG Fusion 1600 is OEMed by Delta Electronics who has MASSIVE experience with exactly the type of implementation seen with this unit. I doubt we’ll see even 1/10 of the failure rate we saw with the discontinued AX1600i. Delta are experts in this field and, to be honest, this price point seems fair. This is not a “consumer PSU” but one aimed at those seeking the very best PSU. The Seasonic really does not compete with it technology-wise. This is a unit with a 12 year warranty for a reason; Delta are experts in exactly this type of design.
