XPG Fusion 1600W Titanium PSU Review – Should Corsair Worry?

Overall Performance

The overall performance is high but not high enough to threaten the aged Corsair AX1600i, which remains the leader in this category, although it is not ATX v3.0 ready. The XPG Fusion generally needs more tuning to meet the Titanium competition.

  1. Despite being discontinued, the AX1600i was built by Flextronics and had a less than optimal failure rate. The XPG Fusion 1600 is OEMed by Delta Electronics who has MASSIVE experience with exactly the type of implementation seen with this unit. I doubt we’ll see even 1/10 of the failure rate we saw with the discontinued AX1600i. Delta are experts in this field and, to be honest, this price point seems fair. This is not a “consumer PSU” but one aimed at those seeking the very best PSU. The Seasonic really does not compete with it technology-wise. This is a unit with a 12 year warranty for a reason; Delta are experts in exactly this type of design.
