The OEM is Seasonic, and the platform is identical to that used in the Focus V4 models. Despite the small PCB, ample space is available, and the distance between parts is sufficient to allow for enhanced airflow. The large vertical PCBs on the sides allow for a less crowded PCB. One holds the APFC converter and the main FETs, while the other daughterboard holds both DC-DC converters that generate the minor rails. Seasonic utilized surface-mount FETs with small heatsinks, as the PCB also cools them. This is an interesting design that features a vertical board holding a significant portion of the PSU’s primary side. Regarding the primary side, a full-bridge topology is employed for enhanced reliability and increased efficiency. On the secondary side, the 12V FETs are installed on the top PCB side, so they come in direct contact with the fan’s airflow.

The fan is digitally controlled by an MCU, which is optimal; however, you still need to program it accordingly to achieve a low overall noise output that won’t stress the power supply (PSU).

The transient filtering stage contains all the necessary components to block both incoming and outgoing EMI emissions. Typically, it starts at the AC receptacle and continues on the main PCB.

There is an MOV to protect from voltage surges and an NTC thermistor with a resistance of 5 ohms. Moreover, a bypass relay supports the NTC thermistor.

The two GBU1508S parallel bridge rectifiers can handle up to 30A together.

The APFC converter uses two CRMicro CRJS99N65G2BF FETs and one Global Power G4S06508DT boost diode. Rubycon manufactures the bulk capacitor. Its capacity is 820 μF, and it is rated for 2,000 hours at 105 °C. Its voltage rating could be higher than 400V, which is too close to the APFC’s DC bus voltage (approximately 380V DC).

The APFC controller is a Champion CM6500UNX.

The four CRMicro CRJS190N65GCF primary switching FETs are installed in a full-bridge topology, and an LLC resonant converter is used for higher efficiency.

The LLC resonant controller is a Champion CM6901X.

The PSU’s main transformer. One of its main functions is to isolate the primary and secondary sides electrically.

Six Leadpower LM45010NHM8A FETs regulate the 12V rail. They are installed on the business (top) side of the main PCB.

Two DC-DC converters generate the minor rails. They use six UBIQ QN3106M6N FETs. The PWM controller is a UPI-semi uP3861P.

Teapo provides the electrolytic and polymer filtering capacitors.

You can find more information about capacitor performance and other specs below:

The standby PWM controller is an Excelliance MOS EM8569C, and the secondary side rectifier is a Dongke Semiconductor DK5V45R10S.

Several polymer and electrolytic caps at the face of the modular panel form an extra ripple-filtering layer.

Not much to see here. The soldering quality is generally ok in most parts, but there are some spots where it is terrible, most likely because I got early samples.

The fan controller is a Nuvoton M031FB0AE.

The cooling fan is a Hong Hua HA13525H12F-Z, utilizing a fluid dynamic bearing. The digital controller enables easy adjustment of the fan’s speed profile, but this can only be done during the production phase, not by users.
