Deepcool PQ1000G ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The average noise output is below 30 dBA, so the PSU isn’t that noisy.

Fan Noise & Speed Maps @ 28-32 °C

[115V] There is no semi-passive operation, but this is not a problem if the fan spins at low speeds under light loads. In this unit, the fan remains quiet at up to 75W at 12V, but if you apply load to the minor rails, the silent operation gets prolonged, which is weird since increased load on the minor rails usually brings the opposite result. With more power at 12V and up to 310W, the fan’s noise is within 20-25 dBA. The 30 dBA mark is passed at 600W (12V), while with more than 708W on this rail, the noise goes over 35 dBA. All in all, the fan speed profile is more relaxed than the one of the 1200W unit.
