Cooler Master GX III 750W ATX v3.0 PSU Review

Box & Bundle

The box generally provides good protection, thanks to its sturdy construction and foam inserts at its internals. On its front side, besides the PSU’s photo and model number, you also get the ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0 badges, which look outdated since newer revisions exist. You will find more technical details on the package’s backside.

The design makes it stand out from the crowd, but I disapprove of the restricted fan grille, which affects airflow and, thus, requires higher fan speeds. With a less restricted fan grille, noise output could be lower. The modular socket has eleven(11x) sockets to deliver the PSU’s full power smoothly.

Cables

Modular Cables
Description Cable Count Connector Count (Total) Gauge In Cable Capacitors
ATX connector 20+4 pin (610mm) 1 1 18-22AWG No
4+4 pin EPS12V (600mm) 1 1 18AWG No
8-pin EPS12V (600mm) 1 1 18AWG No
6+2 pin PCIe (550mm) 3 3 16-18AWG No
12+4 pin PCIe (650mm) (450W) 1 1 16-28AWG No
SATA (500mm+120mm+120mm+120mm) 2 8 20AWG No
4-pin Molex (500mm+120mm+120mm+120mm) 1 4 20AWG No
AC Power Cord (1360mm) – C13 coupler 1 1 18AWG

The cable amount is suitable for a 750W unit, but some areas need improvement. The EPS cables should be longer than the ATX, being at least 650 mm long. The EPS and ATX connector gauges are not 16AWG, but I won’t complain since this is a mid-capacity PSU. I will complain about the short distance between peripheral connectors, at only 120mm. Ideally, it should be 150mm.
