ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III ATX v3.1 PSU Review

Average Noise

The PSU’s average noise output is low. The weird thing is that the 1200W model has even lower average noise output at 115V and 230V. This doesn’t make much of a sense since the two units share the same platform.

The semi-passive mode lasts long. The fan starts at low speeds at over 495W. At up to 800W, the fan’s speed remains below 600 RPM, and even at full load, it doesn’t exceed 1000 RPM, where its noise output is below 30 dBA.

The 230V fan speed profile is identical to the 115V one.

  1. So it is not such a great psu.. prime psu are better from what I can understand.
I thought it was a prime platform..

  2. I thought they were produced by other OEMs, not by Seasonic. Will you have the chance to test the top of the line Asus Rog Thor III 1600W Titanium as well? Thank you.
