The ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III in an expensive PSU using a new Seasonic platform. It features a single GaN MODFET on its primary side along with a magnetic-munt OLED display showing real-time power draw.
The ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III is (or will be) included in my best ATX v3.x & PCIe 5.x PSU picks article.
I have already evaluated the ASUS ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III, so the time has come to test its 1000W sibling.
The ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III is not affordable, since its price without VAT exceeds 350€ in Europe. The new Seasonic platform it uses doesn’t come cheap, mainly since it uses a single MODFET in its APFC converter, mainly for marketing reasons. Another reason behind the product’s high price is the magnetically mounted OLED display, which can be installed on either side of the PSU, showing real-time power draw from the wall. The rest of the features of this PSU include etched modular cables, large heatsinks at its internals to minimize the fan’s workload and noise, a turbo mode switch at its front side for spinning the fan at high speeds and a voltage sensing system for its 12V-2×6 connector which promises a tighter load regulation under high transient loads.

I thought they were produced by other OEMs, not by Seasonic. Will you have the chance to test the top of the line Asus Rog Thor III 1600W Titanium as well? Thank you.
I am not sure if Asus will send the 1600W model for a spin.
