Box & Bundle
My sample didn’t arrive in the retail box, so I used a stock photo here. Like all ROG products, the box features nice graphics, showing an angled picture of the PSU with its OLED screen depicting full power.

Besides large dimensions, this PSU has a fantastic exterior design that is pretty modern. It will be a great shame to use this PSU in a chassis with a closed compartment that will hide it. The fan grill could be less restrictive to allow for better airflow. The side OLED screen is magnetically mounted to either of the PSU’s sides, so you can switch it and adjust it easily according to your needs.
The modular panel includes 15 sockets. Besides the native 12V-2×6 header, there is also a smaller 2-pin one for voltage sense. Asus states this circuit provides a tighter 12V rail under high transient loads. This remains to be seen in the respective test sessions. There is also another 2-pin header for the addressable Aura RGB signal.

All cables are individually sleeved and pretty long, especially the EPS and PCIe ones, to be compatible with any chassis. I expected the ATX, EPS, and legacy PCIe cables to use thicker, 16 AWG gauges for lower voltage drops, but this isn’t the case. Only the 12V-2×6 PCIe cable uses 16AWG gauges, which the ATX spec requires. The amount of peripheral cables is large, especially the 4-pin Molex connectors, which are probably way more than the average user will need. Lastly, my sample didn’t come with an AC power cord so that you won’t find any information on this on the table above.
So it is not such a great psu.. prime psu are better from what I can understand.
I thought it was a prime platform..
I thought they were produced by other OEMs, not by Seasonic. Will you have the chance to test the top of the line Asus Rog Thor III 1600W Titanium as well? Thank you.
I am not sure if Asus will send the 1600W model for a spin.
