Nicosia, Cyprus, 13 December 2024.
Cybenetics, in its continuous effort to push IT parts efficiency and performance even higher, applied today for the ISO 17025 and ISO 17065 certifications. The following months will be even more challenging for all of us in Cybenetics, trying to cope with the increased workload and simultaneously wholly align with all the requirements of both (extra challenging) ISO certifications. However, we are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve our goals.
A brief overview of what these ISO certifications mean.
ISO 17025
This certification enables laboratories to demonstrate that they operate competently and generate valid results, thereby promoting confidence in their work nationally and worldwide. It is one of the toughest ISOs to obtain, and the ultimate goal for any laboratory is to take it up to the highest possible level. Having this ISO means your results are as accurate as possible, and the corresponding equipment is fully calibrated and operates well. Some of the essentials for this ISO:
- Calibrated equipment
- Well educated personnel
- Cross-laboratory comparison tests
- Uncertainty estimates for every test
ISO 17065
It is an international standard that specifies the requirements for the certification of products, processes, and services. It applies to organizations that provide certification services, ensuring they operate consistently, impartially, and reliably. The standard focuses on the certification bodies’ competence and ability to carry out assessments fairly and transparently. Key aspects include:
- Requirements for impartiality and independence.
- Criteria for personnel competence.
- Procedures for handling complaints and disputes.
- Methods to ensure confidentiality and integrity in the certification process.
This ISO is essential to apply and enter the Energy Star.
Energy Star is a voluntary program established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help businesses and individuals save money and protect the environment by promoting energy-efficient products and practices. Products and buildings that meet specific energy efficiency criteria are awarded the Energy Star label, which indicates they use less energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to standard models. The program covers various products, including appliances, electronics, and homes, contributing to energy savings and environmental sustainability.
Once Cybenetics obtains the ISO 17065 certification, it will immediately apply to enter the Energy Star program.
