Epilogue

Intel is working hard to infiltrate the budget GPU market, and it seems to be doing a pretty good job so far with the ARC B570 and B580 models, given that you can find them at MSRP. Following the recent trend for new products, especially GPUs, it is hard to find the new Intel graphics cards at their standard prices. This is the case at least at the time of this review.

The Intel ARC B570 in the games I ran in the categories shown in the table above (raster, DLSS, RT, RT + DLSS) is not a match for the NVIDIA RTX 4060. Still, its performance is decent at FHD, even at QHD in some titles, with the graphics details set at the corresponding levels, and its MSRP is low at $220 ($230 for the ASRock card of this review). I have to note here that the large performance difference, especially in RT and RT + DLSS, was because of the very low performance of the B570 in Ratchet & Clank. In Raster, the worst difference is in the Last of Us. With Frame Generation enabled, along with RT and DLSS, the performance in Ratchet & Clank is dead low, and most of the games I tried weren’t compatible. I couldn’t enable frame generation, so I decided not to include this mode in the overall performance table. In general, Intel’s GPUs need time till all game titles, especially the popular ones, fully support them. On top of that, I have to add here that Libre Hardware Monitor, the plugin I use for the native Powenetics app to monitor CPU and GPU data, doesn’t support Intel’s dedicated GPUs so I had to implement HWinfo support in the Powenetics app, to be able to get the required data.

The main issue is that at the time of this review, it is impossible to find an ARC B570 at a price close to the MSRP, with the prices exceeding MSRP for more than 100 dollars for most products, which is insane! At the same time, I could find various RTX 4060 models at prices below 300 euros/dollars, so they are a far better deal than the overpriced ARC B570. It is a huge shame for Intel to have a good budget GPU with an MSRP notably lower than the one of the RTX 4060, and this does not reflect on the street prices. Moreover, the RTX 4060 is more energy-efficient than the B570.

The Intel Arc B570 is a heck of a deal if you can find it at MSRP, but at prices above that, it just doesn’t make any sense. Better grab an NVIDIA RTX 4060, which supports DLSS, is more power efficient, has higher performance, and is generally widely supported by all game titles.

You don’t need a strong PSU, or an ATX v3.1 one, for the Arc GPUs since they are powered through a single 6+2 pin PCIe connector, but in case you need an ATX v3.1 PSU to be future-proof, take a look at the the best ATX v3.x PSUs.

  • The driver crashed every time I tried to overclock both the GPU and the RAM
  • PCIe 4.0 x8 interface (but it doesn’t affect performance)
  • Increased street prices
  • MSRP close to the B580
