AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU: High-end Vs. mid-end GPU

Epilogue

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is a performance beast, and the same goes for the NVIDIA RTX 4090, so combining these two is definitely worth the time I put into running all tests again. At low resolutions, the CPU is the bottleneck, so the stronger the GPU, the more the performance gap, and this is why I decided to change the graphics card that I had installed in my CPU test system to one of the strongest RTX 4090 cards, by Asus. The results are interesting and, to be frank, expected. Gaming performance got a notable boost, and thanks to the strong GPU, the performance gap between different CPUs under test will be wider. There is also a high-performance difference in media encoding and Davinci Resolve, so if you have invested in the 7950X3D, it would be ideal if you could afford a high-end graphics card, too.

The Ryzen 9 7950X3D is ideal for gaming, content creation, or other demanding multi-threaded applications. If you are interested in gaming mostly, you should wait for the more affordable Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which, paired with an RTX 4090, will be a killer combination.
