Frequency Plots (Low Speed)
10% Fan Speed
I wouldn’t pay much attention to the 50 Hz spike since the mains grid can cause this. Noise is higher in the 800 Hz to 5 KHz region.
25% Fan Speed
The highest spike is at 2 KHz.
50% Fan Speed
We have two spikes here, at 160 Hz and 630 Hz.
75% Fan Speed
The 800 Hz frequency is the highest.
100% Fan Speed
Again, 800 Hz is the peak frequency in terms of noise output.
Signal Recordings
I have recorded the signals shown above, but please keep in mind that I’ve enabled Automatic Gain Control (AGC) to do so to make it easier for you to reproduce them. The provided recordings are only offered for aural identification purposes.

Please compare the Super Flower Megacool 140 to the Iceberg Thermal Icegale Xtra 140 and the Noctua iPPC 140.
Noctua was supposed to send this fan, but they didn’t eventually. I guess they are pissed with the G2 review.
When a test of the Noctua IPPC 140mm 3000RPM for have a fan to compare it ? 🙂
Sent an email to Noctua and weirdly enough I didn’t get a reply. Will talk again to my contact there.
