After the power full Megacool 120mm PWM fan, Super Flowe attacks the 140mm category with its big sibling, which keeps all features including the remote control from which you can adjust its speed in three presets: low, mid,and high. The double ball-bearing, the 3-phase and 12-pole motor design offer extremely high performance and reliability. In this review I will evaluate it in all of tis three modes, so it is a 3-1 review!
After a highly successful presence in power supplies, Super Flower wants to expand to other categories, including cooling and chassis. Stay tuned for a product that belongs to the last category, though, since in this review, I will show you the strongest 140mm fans I have ever tested on my Longwin machine. After the powerful Megacool with 120mm diameter, it was time for the 140mm model to emerge. Like its small brother, it uses a 3-phase and 12-pole motor design to rotate a double ball bearing up to 2700 RPM! It has three modes of operation, which can be selected through remote control. I tried changing the fan speed profile with the fan inside my chamber and with 60 cm walls and a 350kg steel door in between, and it worked like a charm! The best part is that you can change the speed of all Megacool fans at once through the provided remote control.
The double ball bearings allow this fan to operate under high operating temperatures without any reliability issues. Yes, DBB fans are noisier than FDB ones. Still, a fluid dynamic bearing won’t survive for long if you use it at >40℃ temperatures for prolonged periods because its lubricant will evaporate. At the same time, this is not a problem for dual ball bearings, which can operate at >50℃ without sweating. Typically, DBB fans are more expensive than FDB or even HDB ones. I am referring, of course, to quality fans.

Please compare the Super Flower Megacool 140 to the Iceberg Thermal Icegale Xtra 140 and the Noctua iPPC 140.
Noctua was supposed to send this fan, but they didn’t eventually. I guess they are pissed with the G2 review.
When a test of the Noctua IPPC 140mm 3000RPM for have a fan to compare it ? 🙂
Sent an email to Noctua and weirdly enough I didn’t get a reply. Will talk again to my contact there.
