Noctua NH-D15 – Still Worthy, 10 Years After Its Release?

Overall Performance (Intel)

To calculate each cooler’s overall performance, I take into account three factors, the CPU’s temperature, wattage, and frequency, by using the following equation:

(Wattage / Temperature) x Frequency

Each chart shows the cooler under test as 100% and every other product’s performance as relative to it.

The NH-D15 achieves second place behind its chromax at all normalized noise tests.black sibling. With the fans spinning at full speed, it stays behind, taking over the fourth place. The two coolers ahead of it produce more noise (Corsair A115: 39 dBA, Scythe Mugen 6 Black Edition: 34.6 dBA, Noctua NH-D15: 32.3 dBA)

Performance Per Price (Intel)

The performance per price score is low, because of the stiff $110 price tag.

  1. I had an AIO cooler for my 10th gen I9 and it would hit 100⁰c after just a couple of hours of gaming. I put in the NH-D15 and it hasn’t been above 80⁰ since. I would still highly recommend the NH-D15 and my next computer I will probably try the NH-D15 gen2.
