Evaluating Cooling Solutions – This is the way!

Epilogue

To wrap up, I can use two ways to measure cooling solutions. The first is Jalapeno, which is easier since it needs less time to set up the system, and the exported data is smaller, making it easier to process. The second way is a real system, which I will need to replace at some point since it will either get outdated or break.

Suppose you need even more details than what I provide in this article. In that case, you can look at the Cybenetics methodology, which uses Jalapeno as the primary evaluation tool.

Simulated system test equipment:

• Jalapeno (custom thermal loader)
• Corsair Commander Pro (Fan controller)
• Aim TTi QPX600DP (Programmable DC power supply)
• Custom-made software

Real system test equipment:

• Asus Z690 + Intel 13900K
• Corsair Commander Pro (Fan controller)
• Powenetics V2
• Custom-made software

The common equipment for both systems:

  • Bruel & Kjaer G-4 Type 2270
  • Bruel & Kjaer Sound Calibrator Type 4231
  • Bruel & Kjaer type 4955-A low-noise and free-field microphone
  • Hemi-anechoic chamber (6 dBA noise floor)
  • Pico TC-08 (Thermocouple data logger)
  • Giant Force Climate Chamber
