Box, Contents & Bundle
The box is large enough, offering good protection. You will find a photo of the product on its face, while the technical specs are listed on its back.
The bundle includes the following:
- AMD & Intel Retention for Modern CPU Sockets
- Fan Rail Kit
- Fan Splitter Cable
The build quality is good, and the black color hides the cooler’s dimensions—the 90 fins have a 1.69m2 surface area, which is used to lower the heatpipes’ temperature efficiently.
Six heatpipes run through the base. The latter comes with pre-applied thermal paste, making the installation easier. I removed it for my testing since I use the same thermal paste in all my reviews.
The fans are the Corsair AF140 Elite, which provide high enough airflow but not so high static pressure. They use PWM pulses to control their speed, and in the bundle, you will find a fan splitter cable to connect both at the same header. Thanks to the provided rails, adjusting the height of both fans according to your system’s requirements is effortless. Corsair states that the 164.8mm height is based on the stock configuration. The overall height will depend on the fan placement, so you must check your case clearance to install it inside a case with a tall DRAM.
“Lower is better” in “Average Watt” chart: is it correct?
