Epilogue
Cooler Master made an exceptional high-airflow fan, which is ideal for chassis. Not that it cannot be used in cooling solutions since it also achieves high enough static pressure, especially at high speeds, but its strong point is airflow. Another major asset of this fan is the excellent build quality, which allowed CM to offer a lifetime warranty! This is crazy if you ask me, a fan with a lifetime warranty. You will pay a lot to get the Mobius 120 OC, but the lifetime warranty is a sweet deal.
The primary opponent for the flagship Mobius fan is the mighty Phanteks T30-120, which achieves higher airflow and static pressure while keeping noise output at lower levels than the Mobius 120 OC. In the normalized noise performance tests, the Phanteks fan has a clear advantage in all areas, and on top of that, it is less expensive than the Mobius 120 OC, mainly because it doesn’t have the lifetime warranty of the latter. Still, it is covered by a six-year warranty.
The Cooler Master Mobius 120 OC is an excellent case fan. Although it isn’t the performance king in the tough 120mm category, the lifetime warranty is a significant asset that will lead many to its purchase. You must be extra sure about build quality to offer a lifetime warranty on a product with moving parts, especially a cooling fan.
- High build quality
- High enough airflow and static pressure
- PWM control
- Double ball bearing
- Three operational modes
- Lifetime warranty
- Not affordable
- Lack of RGB might be a problem for some users
- No daisy chain capability
Compared to the Phanteks T30, this one has a pathetic throttle range. Sure the Phantek’s mode switch is harder to get to, but you never need to switch it if the highest speed mode goes all the way down to 300 RPM with 4-wire control.
You’ve got some extra charts in the album. Maybe an intermediate processing step?
will check this out, thsnks!
