XPG Invader X BTF Case Review: Thermal & Noise Damping/Output Evaluation

Thermal Performance – Noise Normalized Full Fan Speed

Torture (Prime95 + Furmark) Thermal Results

The CPU, chassis exhaust, and VRM temperatures were quite high. The GPU, NVME, PSU, and Chipset temperatures were better, with PSU temperatures being, again, the best.

Gaming Results

The gaming results position the chassis in a better spot. CPU temperatures are still relatively high, but the performance gap is small compared to other, better-performing chassis.

CPU & GPU Average Clock Frequencies

We have to look at the average CPU and GPU clocks to get a complete picture since higher clocks mean more thermal load, which pushes the cooling system more. If we have two cooling systems with only a 1-2 degrees Celsius difference and a 100-200 MHz difference in the clock speeds of the CPU or the GPU, it is easy to find the best performer.

All frequencies are significantly better compared to the 25dBA results. Only the GPU is slightly lower than average in the Torture test scenario.
