Hyte Revolt 3 Case Review: Noise Damping/Output Evaluation

Epilogue

The HYTE Revolt 3 is an exciting and unique case for those who dig the looks and size. The building experience will be unique for everyone, as the limited space will present different challenges for each hardware configuration. Regarding the size of the components, our build is the one we would expect to find in such a chassis. It might not be perfect (for everyone), but it can’t be.

One of the major pros of this chassis is the access to fresh air that all the components can enjoy if configured properly. Most importantly, the graphics card and PSU can have air directly from the exterior of the chassis, separate from the CPU cooler. If you want to maximize the system’s heat dissipation rate and use power-hungry components, you can add an AIO and even additional 80mm fans.

In addition, the price point is fair, given the quality of the materials and the finish. You may fit up to three total storage drives (one 3.5″ and two 2.5″ drives), AIOs up to 280mm, and even remove the magnetic mesh filters to increase airflow potentially.

We don’t think it is wise to compare different products because this is our first case in this size category and because it’s such a niche market that it doesn’t make sense.

However, we would like to see some minor changes, such as limiting the movement of the fan/cooler hinged panel to avoid scratching the chassis and maybe implementing front I/O cable routing better.

[crmaris input]: Because I lack the time, Themis takes exclusive care of the chassis review/evaluation section, and strangely enough, he likes it! I am not a big fan of chassis reviews. That said, this specific chassis captured my attention, so I ordered a mini-ITX mainboard to set up my new workstation PC inside this small case. I find the external (and internal) design nice, and from the moment, I don’t need to do any gaming on my main PC; there is no need for overkill hardware. My main priority is to have something quiet, with as few cooling fans as possible, that will allow me to focus on my work.

Pros:
  • Good build quality
  • Handle included on the top
  • Retractable headphone hangers on both sides
  • Large enough cut-out behind the mainboard
  • Easy to build
  • It can hold 140mm wide cooling components.
  • Can fit up to 280mm AIO
  • It can fit long GPUs; HYTE provides a list.
  • Has space for one 3.5″HDD and two SSDs or 2.5″HDDs
  • Fair price
  • Easily removable panels
  • Magnetic Dust Filters
  • Access to air for all components
Cons:
  • Awkward routing of the front I/O cables
  • The hinged fan/cooler panel may scratch the chassis
  • A 3.5″ HDD may get hot.
