Corsair 6500X Case Review: Thermal & Noise Damping/Output Evaluation

The Corsair 6500X is the tempered glass variant of the 6500 chassis series. With a dual chamber layout and tempered glass on both the side and the front it offers an unobstructed view of the system.

Corsair, one of the oldest players in the chassis market, has presented yet another dual chamber design in many colorways that is large enough to accommodate the biggest components available. Similar to the 2500D we reviewed in May, this chassis supports the new style of MG-RC or BTF motherboards with support for rear-mounted connectors, but can these design features justify the hefty price tag?

This chassis is designed to fit a lot of stuff! More specifically, it will fit up to three 360mm radiators, large graphics cards up to 400mm, and tall CPU coolers up to 190mm. It can also accommodate a full-size PSU in its secondary chamber and accessories you might want to keep out of sight, like the iCue link. One of the chassis’s weaknesses is the conflict between the HDD cage and reverse motherboard EPS connectors, which pass through the HDD cage, so they take up one of its slots.

  1. What about the top and side panels coming warped out of the box ? And the awful filter material inside the side panel which can easily come loose. The mediocre cable management (having to buy straps), no support holder for PSU, no removable top rad bracket and almost no offset so eps cables a challenge when mounting AIO. Also the incredible weight. Antec c8 and others are built better and better value.

    1. We didn’t face any issues with the top and side panels; otherwise, we would have written about it. I will also pass your comment about the side panel material to the reviewer to comment if he wants.

No support holder for the PSU? I didn’t understand that.
When mounting a top AIO most cases have an issue with the EPS cables, some even without a top-mounted AIO.

We will do more case reviews in the near future and will have more comparison data.

      Thank you for your comments!
